Great FaithPalm Sunday April 17, 2011
It was Palm Sunday two thousand years ago.It was a day in history everyone should know.Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem that day.A great crowd received Him in a welcoming way. Many spread out their cloaks ahead of Him on the road;others spread out palm branches from the scriptures, it’s told. Many went ahead of Him and many followed behind. They shouted their welcome with heart, soul, and mind. “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”,shouted the great crowd, all in one accord.“Blessed is the King of Israel!” “Hosanna!” they cried, yet a few days later He was crucified. In our hearts we believe God raised Jesus from the dead.We confess “Jesus is Lord!” and know He died in our stead.Jesus promised in His Word He would be coming for us soon, those not waiting for Him will be sealing their doom. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Today in our church I heard that old familiar story,of Christ’s triumphal entrance into Jerusalem in Glory. On our way home from the service todayI saw a beautiful scene as we went on our way. There was a couple with great faith I admireas they patiently waited for God’s promise to acquire. The snowflakes were falling, yet their faith is so strong, they know spring is coming and it will not be long.
Great Faith
Palm Sunday April 17, 2011
It was Palm Sunday two thousand years ago.
It was a day in history everyone should know.
Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem that day.
A great crowd received Him in a welcoming way.
Many spread out their cloaks ahead of Him on the road;
others spread out palm branches from the scriptures, it’s told.
Many went ahead of Him and many followed behind.
They shouted their welcome with heart, soul, and mind.
“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”,
shouted the great crowd, all in one accord.
“Blessed is the King of Israel!” “Hosanna!” they cried,
yet a few days later He was crucified.
In our hearts we believe God raised Jesus from the dead.
We confess “Jesus is Lord!” and know He died in our stead.
Jesus promised in His Word He would be coming for us soon,
those not waiting for Him will be sealing their doom.

Today in our church I heard that old familiar story,
of Christ’s triumphal entrance into Jerusalem in Glory.
On our way home from the service today
I saw a beautiful scene as we went on our way.
There was a couple with great faith I admire
as they patiently waited for God’s promise to acquire.
The snowflakes were falling, yet their faith is so strong,
they know spring is coming and it will not be long.
They were not worried; they were not chilled.Through the eyes of faith they see God’s promises fulfilled.Lord we pray, may our faith be as steadfastas we wait for Your return and our redemption at last.

At that time they will see the Son of Mancoming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.
Luke 21:27-28 N.I.V.
Even So, Come Lord Jesus!
They were not worried; they were not chilled.Through the eyes of faith they see God’s promises fulfilled.Lord we pray, may our faith be as steadfastas we wait for Your return and our redemption at last.
